Melbourne’s Budget Wedding Photography were delighted to photograph the wedding of Robyn & David in Frankston recently.
With Covid-19 border restrictions in place, the guest list was reduced in size for those allowed inside the church for the ceremony, but nobody was left out! Friends and relatives in Melbourne and across the border in Adelaide and Sydney, were able to watch the entire ceremony and speeches which were all professionally live streamed in high definition using a 4 camera set up.
Not only were guests at home able to watch the live events unfold, but both the newlyweds and family will be able to enjoy watching the day again at a later date as the footage is automatically uploaded to a private server as it’s filmed. A very impressive service! If you’re considering live streaming your wedding ceremony or elopement in Melbourne then please get in touch and we’ll put you in contact with the live streaming wizards.
Following the ceremony and speeches, and while guests mingled (socially distanced obvs!) we photographed the newly married couple in and around the church since the Melbourne weather had done it’s occasional crazy thing and thrown up a storm for the day. The weather didn’t dampen anybody’s enthusiasm and the modern church served us perfectly for the wedding portraits so we captured a great selection of photos for the couple to treasure.
As affordable wedding photographers often operating out of Melbourne, we relish the chance for a bit of travel out to regional areas of Victoria, such as Kyneton and Bendigo, so when the enquiry for this Daylesford wedding arrived it was an immediate yes from us!
The Lake House is nestled just above a lake in spa country, as you enter the town of Daylesford, 90 minutes from Melbourne and is the perfect area for holding a wedding with it’s relaxed country vibe and friendly hospitality.
With a ceremony on the lake terrace, drinks and photos with family followed the official side of the day, before the bride and groom invited their guests to join them for a relaxed reception just as the sun was setting.
We all love a trip to the Mornington Peninsula! Even more so if we’re photographing a wedding there, so it was with great pleasure that we agreed to photograph K&M’s wedding at The Royal Hotel in Mornington on a warm December day last year.
Following a friendly and relaxed ceremony inside the hotel and while guests enjoyed drinks and canapes in the bar and beer garden, we took the newlyweds and immediate family for a quick scoot around Mornington for photos at the beach, beach boxes, Mornington Park and around the harbour area.
Following photos with the couple we returned to the hotel to photograph guests mingling and congratulating the couple as well as a mock-cut of the wedding cake prior to guests being welcomed into the dining room for the evening’s celebrations and entertainment. We captured the bride and groom being announced to the room and a few brief speeches before departing.
We packed all this photography in to just 3 hours; so for a very affordable price of around $1000 we managed to provide an extensive selection of affordable wedding photos that covered a short time prior to the ceremony, the marriage ceremony, family photos, couple portraits with the bride and groom, mingling and social photos, cutting the cake photo and reception entry. We think you’ll agree, that’s a pretty good deal!
After we finish up at a wedding we always make a point of treating ourselves to some excellent fish and chips at the beach before heading home to Melbourne which always makes wedding photography bookings on the Mornington Peninsula our absolute favourite!
We were pleased to photograph L&C’s Melbourne marriage registry wedding which was attended by their friends and family, including the bride’s side of the family who took the time to fly out especially for it.
Following the ceremony and family photos outside the Old Treasury Building on Spring Street, Melbourne, we moved on to Treasury Gardens for some relaxed photos with the couple before they rejoined their guests for their wedding lunch.
Not being afraid to be themselves, the colour blue was very much the theme, with it appearing in the handcrafted paper flowers, the bride’s hair, jewellery and the groom’s outfit too. I thought the cowboy/girl boots were a nice touch.
We love photographing weddings at the Melbourne Marriage Registry and nearby Treasury Gardens so if you are planning a wedding please do get in touch to discuss your affordable wedding photography options.
We were delighted to be selected as the photographers for A&D’s recent wedding at Ballara Receptions in Eltham near Melbourne.
Ballara Receptions is a popular choice for wedding ceremonies and receptions and as affordable wedding photographers in Melbourne we often find ourselves there in the beautiful chapel and gardens for wedding photos with family and friends.
Often, couples host their ceremony in the gardens in fine weather, but the chapel is an elegant and easy alternative for those Melbourne days that can be a little unpredictable or wet. Wedding photos with family group shots, bridal party and couple in the gardens follows the ceremony, while guests get to enjoy drinks and canapes before the reception starts.
Ballara is great as a wedding venue since it offers a location for both the ceremony and reception in one location, thereby keeping wedding costs affordable and the opportunity to spend that money on your budget friendly wedding photography.

Gary & Maryanne were recently married at the Victoria Marriage Registry in South Yarra. This is a private marriage registry and completely unrelated to the Victorian Marriage Registry in Spring Street, Melbourne CBD, but perfectly suited to small marriage ceremonies with just a handful of guests.
Housed on the ground floor of what seems to be a residential address this marriage venue also seems to double as an art gallery specialising in Aboriginal artwork which makes for a great backdrop for photos.
Following their short and intimate marriage ceremony, we were pleased to photograph their family photos at the nearby Melbourne Botanic Gardens in South Yarra.
Blessed with a warm and sunny day we spent over an hour strolling the gardens for photos of the couple following some more formal shots with their family and friends.
Hailing from the Mornington Peninsula, Gary & Maryanne enjoy visiting Melbourne so it seemed fitting that they should celebrate their new union with photos in one of their favourite photography locations in Melbourne.
If you will be having a Sydney wedding soon, consider yourself lucky as this beautiful city has lots of inspiring and picture perfect locations for your affordable wedding photography. Caleb, one of our fellow affordable wedding photographers Agape Studio introduces us to some of the best wedding photography locations in Sydney.
The best and most popular places are those photography locations which offer the perfect combination of colours, angles, moods and recognisable or iconic landmarks. A good photographer with a good eye can come up with various photos which capture the finest spots to give you those wedding pictures you will treasure for life.
Here are some of the most popular and our favourite locations around Sydney well loved by photographers and couples alike.
Australia’s most famous building and among the world’s most widely recognised structures, The Opera House, is a great wedding photography location for all the good reasons. You can visit the Opera House, walk around 360 degrees of it and capture the most stunning wedding photos with the Sydney harbour right at the background.
Right in front of the structure, you can take in the harbor’s glistening waters with Fort Denison on your right, Harbour Bridge on the left and inn a short stroll, you can reach the Botanical Gardens. With this, you can practically take wedding photos everywhere and in every direction. Alternatively, get on a boat and have it in the background from the water.
Another iconic landmark in Australia, the Harbour Bridge never fails to make it to the list of photo rich locations around Sydney, especially among couples. The whole Sydney Harbour region is amazingly phenomenal and for some, this is simply among the best harbor regions in the whole world. As far as wedding photography opportunities are concerned, you will be spoiled when you are in the harbor as you can capture both the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge at the same time. With its openness and sheer size of landmarks, it is almost impossible to have bad shots in the area.
Vibrant and throbbing with activity all year round, Circular Quay is no doubt Sydney’s number one buzz place. The Quay is the main ferry terminus of the city, located right at the heart of Sydney Cove, which served as the founding place for Australia settlement. The Quay serves as a gateway which connects visitors to the major attractions in the city, including Sydney Harbour, Harbour Bridge, The Rocks and Opera House. This is what makes the Quay a favorite as you can capture practically all scenic views from this particular point.
Bondi, widely popular for its rolling surf and magnificent white sandy beach, is no doubt one of the most ideal locations not only for your wedding photography but also for your wedding ceremony and celebration. It doesn’t matter if you stand on the beach for the ceremony, walk on the sand with your loved one, capture your first ever pictures as a couple or gaze out on the ocean with your closest family and friends, Bondi Beach is the magnificent location for having the best photos you cannot simply get anywhere else.
Shakespeare’s Point & Neilsen Park Kiosk are also firm favourites for couples getting married, both as a ceremony location and for hosting a reception. It’s a pretty backdrop so also works real well for wedding photos too!
Sam & John were married in the Rotunda at Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens with their nearest and dearest squeezing in to the rose covered structure in the middle of summer.
Being located in the middle of one of Melbourne’s most beautiful and manicured gardens meant that we had plenty of photo opportunities at numerous locations once the marriage ceremony had been completed. As the sun set to the west of the Melbourne city skyline we enjoyed the last of the light for the affordable wedding photography with the couple before moving on to their reception venue in South Yarra.

Clare & Maxwell hosted their wedding at the gorgeous Sunnyside Villa in Bacchus Marsh and the Budget Wedding Photography gang were asked to join them and document the day!
Following bridal preparations in Footscray, the couple were joined by 60 guests and married by their celebrant in the gardens of Sunnyside Villa.
The marriage ceremony was followed by family and bridal photos in the gardens. The gardens are extensive and beautifully maintained so absolutely perfect for use in wedding photography.
Our timing was great, as we just finished our photos before the heavens opened again – phew!
Tania & Scott held their recent wedding at Potters receptions in Warrandyte and went all out on the entertainment and decoration. Who thought of hiring a pinball machine to keep the kids occupied? Genius!
Pinball machines and kids entertainers aside, our favourite part of the wedding day (apart from the marriage ceremony and all the beautiful affordable wedding photography of course!) was their awesome red and black wedding cake.
Consisting of two tiers, this cake was covered in a cream coloured icing, black flowers and then drizzled with a crimson red jus which looked thick, sweet and very delicious!
