Gytha & Andy were lucky enough to be married at one of the Bendigo regions best wineries – Harcourt Vallery Vineyard.

Not only were they lucky with the amazing venue being available for their wedding day, but they were extra lucky since it rained.  A lot!  My Grandma always said that rain on your wedding day was a lucky thing.

The rain didn’t stop us getting some great wedding photography for the couple and there are a few where the rain actually added to the occasion!  We’ll share more photos in an upcoming post.

We love photographing backyard weddings!  They’re always so relaxed and usually alot of fun.  Salli & Dave’s was no exception, with an in-ground trampoline, loads of kids, plenty of bubbles and loads of fabulous food. Their guests had a ball; especially the younger ones. Cakes, trampolines, very short ceremony – it was the perfect wedding for kids!

Fun and laughter were definitely the order of the day, and for the few hours that we attended there was plenty of it knocking around.  In fact, it was probably the jolliest wedding we’ve ever shot – the laughter and joking was constant which was really enjoyable to photograph.  Add to it the location of Bayside Melbourne and you have the perfect ingredients for relaxed and fun wedding photography.

Are you planning a backyard wedding? We’d love to hear from you so send us a message!

Budget Wedding Photography were delighted to be able to photograph the wedding of Hannah & Brian at the Melbourne Registry, Old Treasury Building on Spring Street recently.

A short and informal ceremony was conducted by the in-house marriage celebrant and was followed by family photos in Treasury Gardens and photos with their classic wedding car (a Chevrolety Impala in case you’re wondering) in front of  St Patrick’s Cathedral, before moving onto their lunchtime reception at the Fitzroy Town Hall Hotel.

During the recent Vivid events in Sydney in May, we were fortunate to photograph the wedding of Kelly & Glynn.

Starting at the Four Seasons Hotel near Circular Quay, we moved onto the ceremony for family and friends at Wolfies on Circular Quay. As the sun set and dusk arrived we ventured out around Circular Quay, Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge for photos.  It was great fun to make use of the Vivid projections as part of the wedding photos.

Here are a couple of favourites from the evening. We’ll be sharing more once Kelly & Glynn have seen them all.

Erica and Ricky recently celebrated their marriage ceremony at the Melbourne Registry office located in the Old Treasury Building on Spring Street.

Following the relaxed ceremony with family, Budget Wedding Photography (that’s us!) took the happy couple to Treasury Gardens with their guests for family portraits and a photo session with the newly wedded couple before they took off for dinner at a nearby hotel.

The lake and avenue of trees gave us excellent backgrounds for photos. The avenue of trees really frame a family shot nicely.

Thanks Erica & Ricky, it was a pleasure working with you both!

We do enjoy a trip to Werribee Mansion to shoot a wedding!

Whats not to love about it?!  Stunning architecture, beautiful gardens and a fabulous reception venue – it excels on every level!  It also makes a nice change from some of the usual Melbourne wedding venues which we see on a regular basis.

Here are a few pics from a recent with wedding M&A at the Mansion, with the ceremony on the lawns beside the lake with the wedding reception held overlooking the polo field.

A wedding needs to be planned with absolute precision if it is to be a success. One missed detail can make the bride feel like the whole day has been ruined. It is important to make a comprehensive checklist so that every aspect of the big day is given enough attention.

This is a guide to the ultimate wedding day checklist.

The Dress

Every girl dreams of looking like a princess on her wedding day. This means that choosing the right dress can take some careful thought. Instead of picking the first gown that catches the eye, why not try a few on for size? Nowadays there are many different styles to choose from, which reflect everyone’s diverse tastes – women walk down the aisle in everything from the traditional white gown to diamond-studded black dresses. The possibilities are endless.

With so many different styles to choose from, it is best to get a second opinion. This prevents any fashion faux pas and can also make the bride feel confident about her choice.

The Transport

Getting to the wedding venue on time and in style is important. There are many different ways to do this – why not hire a stylish wedding limousine or a vintage horse-drawn carriage? Arriving in such a grand way is sure to make a few heads turn in amazement and make people remember the day for a long time to come.

Limousines allow plenty of legroom, which is important to keep the bride’s dress nice and smooth.

Hiring one doesn’t have to break the bank – Limousine Royalty’s wedding limousines in Perth are extremely cost-effective. See their website at www.limousineroyalty.com.au

The Venue

Australia is becoming increasingly secular, which means that a church wedding isn’t very appealing for many couples looking to tie the knot. If this is the case, there are dozens of other interesting places to have a ceremony in Perth, including the sprawling Darlington Estate Winery and the grand Caversham House estate. There are tasteful venues to suit every budget all over Western Australia. Draw up a list of venues and then weigh up the pros and cons once they have been visited.

The Guestlist

Getting the guest list right can be tricky, and this is often the biggest source of friction between the bride and groom in the planning process. Inviting the right number of people to match the size of the venue is important: trying to cram 700 guests into a tiny chapel isn’t going to be very practical. Choosing who to leave off the guest list is also difficult, so plan this carefully to avoid upsetting or offending anyone.

The Food

Eating delicious food at the reception is the highlight of the day for many guests. Make sure to check whether guests have any specific dietary requirements or allergies, and tailor the menu accordingly. This means that everyone will be able to enjoy the food without getting left out.

Follow this checklist to ensure that the special day goes without a hitch. Remember, preparation is key!
