With it’s rolling hills and stunning views across the ranges, the Yarra Valley is undoubtedly one of the best spots in Victoria for a wedding and we’ve been fortunate enough to work in and around it for the last 10 years.
As we’ve worked our way around the region, photographing weddings at virtually every wedding venue in the area, we’ve come to love some and adore others. Here, and in no particular order, we’ve listed our favourite venues for beautiful wedding photography in the Yarra Valley.
Just a short hop from Melbourne’s CBD, Vines of the Yarra Valley is located at Coldstream, which is often the gateway to the region and where the valley views really start to make an impression on the visitor. Vines is surrounded by acres of vineyard on every side and with 360 degree views of the Yarra Ranges, this wedding venue is every wedding photographers dream with perfect photography locations at every turn. And then the there is the food and wine that guests rave about. Check out their Google reviews to see what all the fuss is about – you won’t be disappointed.

Immerse is a popular wedding venue, acclaimed restaurant and boutique winery all rolled into one. With on site vineyards and it’s own purpose built chapel, Immerse is a popular option with couples who want an undercover option if the Yarra Valley decides to put on a show! Located in Dixons Creek, Immerse is the other side of the valley to Vines in Coldstream so is a little further from Melbourne CBD. It’s a good excuse for an overnight stay in the region!
Well known in the area for large and opulent weddings and with uninterrupted views across vines to the Great Divide, Stones of the Yarra Valley is located on one of the most picturesque and historic properties in the Yarra Valley. The site houses two superb restaurant, with food that guests will talk about for years to come.
At Flowerdale Estate, you and your wedding guests will be treated to the full country garden wedding experience. This beautiful pocket of country Victoria with its 150 acres of meticulously manicured lawns, gardens, rolling hills and beautiful landscapes will no doubt impress guests and couples alike.
As one of the Yarra Valley’s newer wedding venues, Riverstone Estate has had small beginnings, but has now grown into a very popular 75 acre wedding venue set on the banks of the Yarra River. Known for producing exceptional food and wine and the lovely views that are common to the region, the showpiece of th is exceptional property is a homestead & function space built from Bluestone and reclaimed Oregon timber.
With a vineyard that was established in 1995, the wine makers have been exporting small quantities of their boutique product to Japan and China.
Couples are able to host their wedding ceremony outdoors with views of the rolling hills, while there is also an undercover option of the deck or indoors if the Victorian weather is sketchy.
Hosting weddings for over 15 years, the staff at Inglewood Estate know how to make a wedding day perfect! Starting the day with bridal preparation in the original farmhouse cottage and followed by a ceremony in the onsite chapel at Kangaroo Ground, the couple and their guests then move into the former hay shed that is now their comfortable and cosy reception venue. With exclusive use of the rambling gardens and lake, there are extensive photography opportunities while guests enjoy canapes and pre dinner drinks outside the chapel. If you’re looking for a relaxed and rustic country feel for your wedding, Inglewood is highly recommended.
Perched on a small hill in Yarra Glen, Acacia Ridge has stunning views across the vines and onto the distant mountains and has grown in popularity over recent years for relaxed and casual weddings. The family-run vineyard offers an 1850’s Miner’s Hut and characterful rustic barn for the wedding reception, able to accommodate up to 140 seated guests or 200 for a cocktail style reception. Summer weddings often take advantage of the fine weather and use an outdoor marquee with transparent sides so that the view across the Yarra Valley can be enjoyed while relaxing, dining and dancing.
While not one of the most well known of the wedding venues in the region, this is a great secret spot that were happy to know about! Located in Chirnside Park, this contemporary venue combines country style with city elegance and couples are able to choose from a wedding amongst the vineyards on site or in the modern chapel that is included in the package. With the ability to cater for up to 150 guests, this venue is well suited to medium sized weddings. Customer reviews for the couple and the venue that they manage are outstanding and is testament to the service they offer.
