Located at Yarra Glen in Victoria’s picturesque Yarra Valley, Alowyn Gardens is an award winning garden with formal gardens, beautiful landscaping and most memorably, a 50 metre long (and fragrant!) wysteria covered tunnel.
Out superstar photographer Alex, was lucky enough to shoot this wedding and on a hot and sunny day in the middle of summer, got to enjoy the cooling shade and dapppled light of the wysteria tunnel with the ceremony held under it.
Following the ceremony, April and Adam enjoyed photos with their bridal party and then together under the wysteria before rejoining their guests for drinks and dinner.
Just before the golden hour and sunset Alex took the couple out to a nearby field for more photos to make the most of the soft light and gorgeous scenery. We think you’ll agree that it was worth the effort!
Flowering for approximately 4 weeks in October each, the arch looks great at any time of year with it’s welcoming shade and beautiful greenery, and is perfect for wedding photography.
Whatever time of year it is, Alowyn Gardens is always a lovely option for wedding photography. For a small fee, couples are able to access the gardens for their wedding photos even if they are not holding their ceremony or reception on site, but this must be booked in advance.
It was our pleasure to photograph Marnie & Steve’s recent wedding at the fabulous Farm Vigano in South Morang. Located where Melbourne’s suburbs start to peter out and bushland starts to be the main feature, the restaurant has a lovely country vibe, with great views of the surrounding trees and orchards below the property.
Having found us while looking for cheap wedding photographers in the Melbourne region, we were pleased to be able to offer just a short photography package of 2 hours that fitted with their plans for the day at their elopement style wedding which consisted of a small morning ceremony on the lawn, family and couple photos around the property, before moving into the restaurant for a long and relaxed lunch.
We enjoy shooting weddings of all size and style so please do get in touch to chat about your plans. You might like to check out other recent weddings we have photographed around Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane over on our blog.
Tania & Scott held their recent wedding at Potters receptions in Warrandyte and went all out on the entertainment and decoration. Who thought of hiring a pinball machine to keep the kids occupied? Genius!
Pinball machines and kids entertainers aside, our favourite part of the wedding day (apart from the marriage ceremony and all the beautiful affordable wedding photography of course!) was their awesome red and black wedding cake.
Consisting of two tiers, this cake was covered in a cream coloured icing, black flowers and then drizzled with a crimson red jus which looked thick, sweet and very delicious!

S&J were married at the beautiful Yarra Ranges Estate in Monbulk recently and your Budget Wedding Photography team were there to capture the day for them.
With sweeping views of the Dandenong Ranges and the Yarra Valley, the venue is a beautiful location for a wedding. Not only does it feel like a world away from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne, but it is also very competitively priced compared to many of the other wedding venues in the Dandenongs and Yarra Valley region.
If you’re planning your wedding in the Yarra Valley, we encourage you to start considering your photographer options as soon as your venue is booked. Our affordable wedding photography is very popular and gets booked up quite quickly, so don’t hang around!
It’s always a pleasure to venture out of Melbourne up to the Yarra Valley for our budget wedding photography service, and even more so when it’s at a great couple like Beryl & Pete.
This shot was just before they moved back into the restaurant at Tokar Estate for lunch – don’t they look happy together! The love just radiates out of these two, and they just don’t stop laughing at each others jokes – such fun to be around!
